WATER ENGINEERING AND PUMPING TECHNOLOGIES (PTY) lTD
Highly regarded as one of South Africa's foremost providers of building wet services technology, Water Engineering & Pumping Technologies (Pty) Ltd (abbreviated as WET) offers clients a full service that ensures hands-on involvement from design to completion of project.

WET is part of the Romen group of companies which consists of four trade companies and three investment companies. It was started in 1978 under the name "WET Solar" by partners Brian Ross, Cheryl Ross, and Paulus Damen and originally focused on "renewable energy", a new industry in South Africa at the time.

WET Solar (Pty) Ltd (trading as Solar 2000) was the first registered company that introduced solar heating in South Africa. However, the market at the time was not ready for the "renewable energy" business as electricity was inexpensive and there was no energy or oil crisis worldwide

Looking to diversify, the company focused on the generation, distribution, and control of hot and cold water. Soon the company's direction changed and the partners realised that the future was in the "Building Wet Service Industry".

In 1996, WET was launched specialising in wet services, which was a new concept for South Africa at the time. Their focus became reticulation of water in a commercial or industrial building, and with over 80 years combined experience in this industry, the company became the industry leader backed by its experience, innovative ideas, and know-how. This has earned the company a reputation of credibility and dependability.

WET's footprint is prominent in South Africa coupled with 40% of its turnover  in  Sub-Saharan Africa. We  reach from Nigeria to Rwanda and Angola to the Indian Ocean islands.

The company's expansion has been exponential since inception. Staff has grown from three people in 1978 to 25 people today.  The Groups Turnover last year was R70m and is estimated to reach R100m in 2010.

Today WET focuses on:
   •  sub-soil drainage
   •  submersible pumps
   •  lift pump sets
   •  bulk water storage
   •  pressure boosting systems
   •  grey water recovery and distribution
   •  black water recovery and distribution
   •  water purification
   •  irrigation and storage
   •  fire pump systems - hose reel and hydrant (electric & diesel
       sets)
   • Hot Water Generation

   •   Energy Conservation

Mr. Brian Ross, Managing Director, attributes the Company's success to its ability to offer a total solution, from design to finish, and by focusing on turnkey projects. WET is also involved in the planning stage with the Architect and the Developer and works hand-in-hand with the required Electrical and Mechanical Consultants. It provides a design solution, imports products and capital equipment, undertakes fabrication and assembly, delivery to site, completes installation, provides project management, and maintains equipment.  WET also specialises in providing a full after-sales service, enters into long-term service contracts and planned refurbishment programmes.
