Background

WET is regarded as one of the foremost providers of Building Wet Services and associated turnkey projects in Africa. While the company has built up a formidable reputation, in many ways, WET is the company responsible for pioneering this unique concept in South Africa more than 30 years ago.

It all started with an idea in 1978, to introduce passive energy to the South African market. While the market was still unaware of the energy crisis that would emerge some three decades later, Solar 2000 (Pty) Ltd was established well ahead of its time, to supply solar energy products to the public and industrial markets in Southern Africa. With this simple but ingenious concept, the company grew to become a nationwide leader and formidable competitor to more established companies, supplying a range of specialised services and products, including heat pumps and solar heating products to the heating and industrial industries.

In 1997, having recognised an opportunity in the market for an essential service within the construction sector, the company was rebranded as Water Engineering & Pumping Technologies (Pty) Ltd and re-established itself as a comprehensive supplier of Building Wet Services, Hot Water Generation Services and Energy Conservation Services.

Over the years WET has evolved into a company that designs, fabricates, installs and commissions the entire range of systems pertaining to the Building Wet Services Industry. Innovation, reliability and expertise have assisted WET in building up a formidable industry reputation. It continues to set itself apart from its competitors by keeping abreast of global trends and innovations, sourcing the best equipment from the top suppliers worldwide and by offering clients a range of highly specialised services, which are backed by service excellence and reliability.
